Contest Information
The fifth annual TAMS Tournament was held on Saturday, November 19th, 2011. Tests, solutions, and results are available here.
Parking: The competition will take place in Wooten Hall on the University of North Texas main campus. Please park in Lot 37 behind the building. (printer friendly map).
Tests: Students are allowed to sign up for as many tests as they would like as long as the time periods for these tests do not overlap (please refer to the schedule below).
Mathematics, science, and computer science written tests will have a time limit of 50 minutes. The mathematics tests and computer science written test will contain 20 all or mostly short answer questions, while the science tests will be 40 or 50 muiltple choice questions long. On all tests, there will be no guessing penalty.
Other events are Computer Science Programming, Building and Engineering, and Team Math. Computer Science Programming is 2 hours, with another 30 minutes allotted for testing and setup. The Building and Engineering event and Team Math are each 90 minutes.

Rules
- Legibly record your answers in the space provided.
- Point values may be assigned for each question on certain tests. If no point values are assigned, assume all questions are weighted equally.
- There is no guessing penalty.
- A wrong or illegible answer receives 0 points, as does no answer.
- No books or study aids are allowed (there are specific exceptions for the computer programming contest).
- Cell phones may not be used during an event.
- This list only covers general rules, and there may be exceptions to some of these rules. See the event information pages for more details.
Calculators
- Calculators are not allowed for math and computer science written tests.
- Calculators may be used in addition to the computer on the computer science programming event.
- Specific calculators will be allowed on certain science tests (see event pages for more details), and may be required to solve some problems.
- Calculators will not be provided.
Scoring
- All questions on the science tests will be weighted equally.
- Mathematics and computer science written tests will have points set based on difficulty.
